I fear I'd be biassed from picking favourites, Vincent .
I still can't believe my luck 'though. Mr. Mike!!
I almost feel like how the French letter-salutation goes: "Embrassez tout le monde pour moi". Which always seemed a little steep for me, yet commendable: I use it in letters any chance I get .
(Uhm, see you later...) _________________ "Don't mess with me, lady. I've been drinking with skeletons." (Hellboy to Hecate)
reads: evt. Mignola, Moebius, M. Schultz;
hears: Slint, Knut, M, Radiohead, Daft Punk. |

I expected more reactions on the Mark Schultznews.
No one on this forum interested in his work?
For Mark, Guido and me, this will be one heck of a convention. |

Sorry.
I do appreciate his art but it is no jaw-dropper for me.
Maybe most people are more into modern art then Schultz-art.
Beyond that...a name is just a name.
Why not attach some visuals? Most are men and men needs visuals _________________

Hi Richard!
You are right, when I think of MArk Schultz's art, I think of Xenozoic Tales, babes and cars and critters, Conan and Prince Valiant. Old school, no Image or Top Cowstyle.
Here are some pictures:
Hannah Dundee:
Conan:
Helen of Troy:
What do you think?
Greetz

My reaction was an intense silent pain at the idea of missing the show.
Of course getting Mark Shultz to a comic convention is a BIG DEAL.
From Xenozoic TAles to his latest "Various Drawings" book at Flesk, I've been a HUGE fan of the man. Each and every drawing he touches is a pure delight to see, and show skills from another world.
I'm sure you guys will have a kick just talking to him about art and our art heroes.
Now why it had to be so far from home?!!!! _________________ Paul Renaud |

This is so beautiful!!!
Just want to add that Mark Schultz is also a very talented writer.
There's not tht many guys who can write and draw with that kind of talent.
Each new XT issue was a treat. I miss that book so much! _________________ Paul Renaud |

Come on, Fons. You know my reaction. I'm also a huge fan and I think his art is awesome. I'm thrilled by the fact I probably will be signing my humble "the Unknown"-hardcover(s) at the same booth as he is and I'll meet him and mr. Flesk. (all thanks to Mark and you. ) _________________

Hello Gents!!
Let me add to all more than true credits Mr.Schultz has received here, that next to a terrific writer and artiste extraordinaire,
Mark Schultz is also one of the most prolific artits around when it comes to carrying the legacy of the so-called "Classic Artists"
The recent Schultz written and Flesk published volume on the Flash Gordon work of Al Williamson, and his weekly written contribution to the Gary Gianni pencilled Prince Valliant strip, profiles the admiration and recognition of all the fine and elaborate work that was done in the past.
Combined with the mile-high production values of his recent publishing house Flesk Publications and it's publisher John Fleskes, Breda 2010 will provide ample opportunity to have an interesting and friendly meet with two people who are an essential part of keeping the past and the present in comic and strip art, in a delicate positive balance.
Cheers,Mark |
