Here's my cover for Irredeemable 17. Another great book I was happy to provide a cover for.
For this one I wanted to go "Akira", especially with the colors : Katsuhiro Otomo has this unique sense of color on his painted covers. I wanted to catch that vibe, which I don't think I quite did actually. But it was fun trying anyway.
IRREDEEMABLE #17
Written by Mark Waid, art by Peter Krause, cover by Dan Panosian, Paul Renaud and Jeffrey Spokes.
The discovery of a new strength among the shattered Paradigm reinvigorates the superhero coalition's fight against the Plutonian. But will it be enough when the Plutonian strikes out against them with a deadly force never before seen? All the while, an unspeakable plan that brings up remnants from the past threatens to fracture the Paradigm once again.
32 pages, $3.99. _________________ Paul Renaud |

The girl is communicating with the ghosts (that's her power) of the people who died in the city when the Plutonian destroyed it.
The foreground and background are not happening at the same moment.
However, I deliberately composed the cover as is he was coming for her, you know, for more drama. _________________ Paul Renaud |
